The building houses a museum, a cafe, a library, the district's one-stop shop, a business lounge, and offices.
The requirement
The modern, newly constructed multipurpose building required a sophisticated and reliable structured cabling system.
Looking for a partner
? Fibrenet was founded in 1999. Since then, the company has grown considerably to meet the demands of its client portfolio and has increased its turnover annually, prompting the company to relocate several times.
Currently based in Stanningley, Leeds, the highly qualified team advises clients on design, offering valuable advice and support before, during, and after the successful completion of the project.
Fibrenet's objective is to remain competitive while providing top-quality service by delivering exceptional installations and meeting the challenges of today's market.
The right product
After consulting and advising the client on the Excel product range, Fibrenet proceeded with the installation of a Category 6A Excel solution, which included cable, patch panels, tool-less connectors and form-fit screens.

OM3 tight-buffered fiber optic cable was also installed alongside multi-pair telephone cables.
Excel structured cabling products provide a complete solution where performance and ease of installation are prerequisites. Emphasizing compatibility and compliance "from outlet to cabinet," reliability, and product availability, Excel is a truly dependable solution.

Excel's Category 6A systems are among the few on the market that are certified for both channel and components. Each of the key products used to make up an Excel Category 6A cabling solution has undergone performance and compliance verification by the independent Delta laboratory.
Design and Installation:
The Excel brand is owned and distributed by Mayflex, a leading provider of Unified IP Solutions. Through close collaboration with Fibrenet, Mayflex was able to deliver the products directly to the installation site at the right time, allowing technicians to proceed with the installation quickly and efficiently.

Excel's Category 6A cable and connectors take the performance capabilities of copper infrastructure to new levels. The cable is designed to exceed the component requirements established by ISO/IEC, CENELEC, and TIA for Category 6A. Each cable consists of two pairs wrapped in an S-configuration. Using two sets of pairs reduces the cable's diameter and weight. This smaller size and weight mean the cable occupies less space in containment systems, improving airflow in underground installations. The reduced weight also allows for lighter containment systems.
The Excel Category 6A Low Profile Shielded Keystone Connector is a compact, tool-less RJ45 connector that can be terminated in under two minutes. Thanks to this product, we were able to keep the project on track and meet the deadlines.
A modular system like the one used in this installation offers many advantages, especially when consolidation points are used in GOP boxes, since the system uses the same connectors on the panel, the consolidation point, and the telecommunications outlet. Systems that use the same connector at both ends, on average, deliver better test results.

The Excel fiber range offers a wide variety of multimode and single-mode solutions. The tight-buffered OM3 multimode fiber cables consist of 900µm color-coded shielded fibers coated with water-resistant and rodent-proof materials. The outer jacket is flame-retardant and halogen-free (LSOH). The design and manufacturing of this range result in a lightweight, easy-to-install, and cost-effective cable.
Consolidation points were used to facilitate flexible layouts for users. This gives the client countless possible layout options, taking into account the building's limitations. Work areas, desks, departments, or partitions can be easily rearranged.

Excel's fiber and copper cables come with a comprehensive 25-year warranty when installed by an accredited Excel partner, such as Fibrenet Office Solutions, thus providing longevity and peace of mind to the community center.
The result:
The community center understood that for effective operation, a well-designed and properly installed system was necessary, one that could be expanded in the future. This is exactly what they achieved with the Excel system, recommended and installed by Fibrenet Office Solutions.
"During the installation phase, I was invited to visit the site on a couple of occasions to carry out a technical evaluation, as part of the warranty process, and to make the relevant observations.

The level of workmanship was excellent, which, given Fibrenet's experience and technical capabilities, was no surprise, and they should be congratulated for their work.
