ComponentsCurrently, all ICT cabling systems are designed and installed in accordance with the international standards ISO/IEC 11801 and the European standard EN50173. These standards differ based on the category of components used in the cabling system. The performance of the entire system is defined by different classes. At least Class EA cabling is required for 10 Gigabit Ethernet, which is currently the fastest standardized data transmission application using symmetrical copper cable.

These cables must be made up of components with a quality equivalent to Category 6A (IEC) or even higher.

6A is not the same as 6A.

Connection components that do not meet the strict requirements of Category 6A and that "only" comply with the American TIA/EIA Category 6A standard, which is 3dB below, may actually be sufficient to reach the EA Quality Class on the channel, but as a general rule they do not offer additional capacity at the limit values.

Only those connection components that comply with the International Standard IEC 60603-7-51 for Category 6A offer sufficient additional margin, and thus a "plus" for the user.

RJ45 components with a “Plus”

For this reason, Datwyler offers the new range of RJ45 Category 6A connection components with the suffix “Plus”, which includes among others the MS-K Plus 1/8 and KS-T Plus 1/8 modules.

Datwyler's portfolio of connection modules also includes the compact CSD plus 2/8 and the CSA Plus 24/8 distribution panel, which incorporate RJ45 ports.

Sufficient additional capacity.
Passive cabling essentially consists of the cable itself, the connection technology, and the patch cords. Only when all these components are perfectly aligned to interact with each other are optimal transmission conditions achieved.

In the event that an installer wants to make their own selection of subcomponents, choosing different suppliers to build functional links that have optimized transmission characteristics, all components used must be of the required category (or higher).

Another "plus" that Datwyler offers is that the quality of its components is certified by external certification agencies, such as GMHT.

A Security Enhancement
: Currently, new cabling systems are designed and installed according to the 10GBase-T standard. It is important to know if the components offer the individual characteristics that guarantee optimal performance once installed within the system. Therefore, acceptance tests are performed on the system before its final commissioning. High-performance LAN field tests have standardized Category 6A test connectors to measure Permanent Links (PMLs) and calculate the most important parameters. The test certifies the quality of the installed network.

Installers can achieve permanent Class EA links with sufficient backup capacity using only IEC-compliant Category 6A connection components. These components also ensure that components from different manufacturers can work together.

For all systems using the “Plus” range, Datwyler offers the customer, upon request, a 20-year Permanent Link Class EA compliant system warranty, which implies an “plus” of security for both installers and end users.

PoE Compatible:
The components in the “Plus” range are also fully compatible with PoE (Power over Ethernet), supplying power to small end devices via data cabling. In this case, the “Plus” designation means they meet the strictest PoE Plus requirements according to the IEEE 802.3at standard.
