Fast Ethernet ConverterThe EP1/EM1 devices enable point-to-point Ethernet or Fast Ethernet links over single-mode or multi-mode fiber optic cable, with a range of up to 40 kilometers.
The EP1 models incorporate a Power over Ethernet (PoE+) injector of up to 25.5 W, compliant with the IEEE 802.3af standard.
These media converters, which are completely transparent to communications, feature automatic Link Fault Pass-Through (LFP) propagation. This means that when a fault occurs in the Ethernet cable or fiber optic cable, the error is propagated to the connected devices, which then detect the network failure and interrupt communication (full duplex or half duplex).
The EP1/EM1 units also feature front-panel LED indicators to facilitate installation and verify operation.
Measuring 32 x 82 x 60 mm, these converters have an MTBF of 100,000 hours and operate within a temperature range of -40 to +74 °C.
