In a deployment of this type, each camera is considered a network element, connected to the others following a scheme similar to that shown in the diagram. The advantages of using fiber optics are evident, given its characteristics of immunity to external agents, high bandwidth, etc., which will also allow links of up to 80 km, depending on the type of fiber used.
For better implementation of these installations, active equipment is needed that allows copper-to-fiber conversion with Gigabit output, to support the significant data flow that the connected camera array can provide; it must also have construction characteristics that allow its installation in outdoor enclosures.
The GC family of converters and switches manufactured by ADILEC and distributed by the Cofitel Group satisfactorily meets these requirements with the following equipment:
EMGC: Gigabit 10/100/1000BaseT to 1000Base-X SFP Half Converter (-40ºC to 74ºC) Industrial Range:
Compatible with IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u and IEEE802.3x standards at 10/100/1000Mbps, it has an SFP port (according to MSA specifications) that allows great versatility: change from SM to MM fiber, or increase distance up to 80km, simply by changing the SFP transceiver.
ESGC: Gigabit Ethernet Switch 4x10/100/1000BaseT to 2x1000 Mbps SFP (-40ºC to 74ºC) Industrial Range:
Compatible with IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u and IEEE802.3x standards at 10/100/1000Mbps, it has 4 RJ45 ports and two SFP ports (according to MSA specifications), allowing you to connect up to 6 devices at Gigabit Ethernet speed.
Both devices are supplied in a modular (standalone) version that also allows for DIN rail mounting. We also offer a PoE version of each device.
The range of SFP modules (LC connectors) includes models for one or two SM and MM fibers; the selection depends on the application.
