Aotec President Antonio García Vidal highlighted the "experience and knowledge" of Elguezabal and Palacios, noting that with both additions, the project to create an entity with greater executive capacity begins, incorporating fully dedicated professionals, with the aim of "strengthening support for telecommunications SMEs", given that these companies are in continuous expansion and compete with large companies.

García Vidal pointed out that Elguezabal and Palacios, who have stated that they are very excited about the project, will be in continuous contact with the associates, establishing and launching projects and initiatives to facilitate collaboration and efficiency for telecom SMEs.

Elguezabal, who has 15 years of experience managing SMEs, emphasizes that the sector “has highly skilled entrepreneurs who are making significant investments in fiber optic deployments” and that all of this is happening in an environment “of very high competition and with downward price pressure,” so he will work to ensure that these companies can “reduce costs, improve the quality of their services, which is already very high, and accelerate the adoption of new lines of business, added services that bring value to their customers.”.

For his part, Palacios pointed out that the sector “has matured a lot in recent years, going from having a business to having companies, which have remained at the forefront of technology. Now we have to bring them new products and services.”.

Elguezabal has worked in various sectors, always involved in the management of SMEs. He began his career in the Administration and Finance departments of construction companies in the Basque Country, as well as companies involved in the import of building materials; he also worked in real estate, specializing in finance; and most recently, he has advised companies in the automotive and telecommunications sectors. He specializes in negotiation, business strategy, and customer service.

For his part, Felipe Palacios is one of the leading figures in the telecommunications sector, where in the 1970s he worked with Televisa to bring a Spanish-language channel to Spain, Galavisión, the first to feed the schedules of local operators and which has been present ever since and for decades in broadcasting.

As a telecommunications engineer, he has helped to promote the adoption of the MPEG2 system for packet data transmission, to create networks such as CableMel in Melilla, and has collaborated with companies such as Teleste.

“I am convinced that with both, Aotec will gain dynamism and our companies will strengthen the synergies they currently have and enhance their management efficiency,” says García Vidal, which will result in “a stronger and more powerful sector.”.
