Born in Spain and a graduate of the University of Oviedo, Bárbara García Florén studied Business and Management at the University of Bradford (United Kingdom) and holds a Master's degree in Banking, Finance and International Business from the University of Bordeaux.
Barbara joined Sonepar as a financial controller 23 years ago. Since then, her career has developed within the Group, holding numerous positions at Sonepar's headquarters in France, which have allowed her to acquire extensive knowledge of Sonepar's processes and organization, as well as the electricity market.
In April 2021, she was appointed Sonepar SVP Mergers & Acquisitions and CEO Office, and a member of Sonepar's Executive Committee.
Jean-Cyrille Verspieren, who has been with the Sonepar Group since 1996, will assume the role of President of Asia Pacific and become a member of Sonepar's Executive Committee on January 1, 2024, reporting directly to Philippe Delpech, CEO of Sonepar. Verspieren became President of Sonepar Spain in 2018.
Throughout his career, Jean-Cyrille has developed a deep understanding of various markets and countries, and has worked internationally with numerous teams. His extensive knowledge of Sonepar's business, his team spirit, and his strong passion for people will be key to managing the Asia Pacific Region, comprised of 7 countries, 3,900 employees, and where the Group achieved sales of €1.8 billion in 2022.
Bárbara García Florén will have the support of the Sonepar Spain Management Committee to continue advancing the various projects launched in recent years. Sonepar Spain is currently undergoing a transformation process to offer the most comprehensive omnichannel experience on the market, enhancing customer service and support, and making significant investments to strengthen its supply chain. Leading the energy transition in the sector, setting a benchmark in compliance, promoting diversity and inclusion, and continuing to grow sustainably are key objectives for Sonepar Spain.
