In his previous role as Director of Engineering, the company oversaw the reorganization of its mobility and energy businesses into subsidiaries; the acquisition of Tactix in Australia and Quark in Spain; and the strategic reorientation of the energy business, among other initiatives. Prior to that, he coordinated the restructuring of the engineering area, which included the launch of the technology units for mobility, energy, and innovation. His work has been essential in renewing and promoting a culture of innovation and digitalization within the group.
Sener is embarking on an ambitious 2025 strategic plan that projects significant growth for the group, both in its existing businesses and in new technology-based areas. This growth will be supported by substantial investment in people, technological innovation, and company acquisitions. The current order backlog exceeds €1 billion, a record across all core business lines, and encompasses a wide range of international projects.
Gabriel Alarcón began his career at Sener in 1995. Since then, with the exception of a brief period at ALSTOM, he has held various positions of responsibility within the Sener Group, in technical areas, project management, engineering management, and general management, in sectors with a strong technological, innovative, and sustainable focus. Among other roles, he served as General Manager of Engineering and Director of Sener in Catalonia. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Mechanics from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and a postgraduate degree from the General Management Program (PDG) at the IESE Business School.
