The reorganization of General Cable's management team includes the appointment, on September 1st, of Josep Raventós Vilanova as Country & Sales Manager for Iberia (Spain and Portugal) and Joaquín Sanz Berrioategortua as General Manager in Spain. In the new European structure, the sales area is separated from the business units (Finance, Production, Human Resources, etc.), so the Country & Sales Managers will report directly to the CEO of Europe, having full sales responsibility and authority in the countries where they operate.
Josep Raventós Vilanova is an Industrial Engineer and holds a PDD from IESE Business School. He has over 30 years of experience in the electrical equipment sector, more than 20 of which have been with General Cable. He has also worked for companies such as Crolls in Vilanova i La Geltrú and Reus, Mediterránea de Climatización in Barcelona, and Merlin Gerin in Grenoble (France), Valencia, and Barcelona, holding management positions in Purchasing, Technical, Industrial, and Commercial areas. Until now, he was the Commercial Director of Grupo General Cable Sistemas, where he demonstrated a strong aptitude for product development and innovation for the sector.
Joaquín Sanz Berrioategortua began his professional career as a consultant at Andersen Consulting in 1994. He later worked in the Finance department of Hewlett-Packard in Madrid, Barcelona, and San Diego (USA). He joined General Cable in 2002 as Head of Subsidiary Finance and, from 2004, served as Human Resources Director. In January 2007, he assumed the General Management of ECN. He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from ICADE, a law degree from UNED, and a PDG (General Management Program) from IESE.
