Selected by the project leader, ENG, to supply the TETRA radio communications network, Kapsch will provide four base stations, 20 optical repeaters, 60 integrated cab radios, and 140 portable radios. Kapsch will handle everything from planning, design, and installation to integration with existing communication systems on the other metro lines.
With 15 trains serving six major stations, the new Line 4 will replace more than 2,000 cars during peak hours, helping to alleviate the city's traffic congestion problems. The line will open before the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, enabling hundreds of thousands of sports fans to reach their destinations quickly, safely, and comfortably.
