Xilica's initial Sonia series includes the Sonia C5, a compact 5.25" ceiling loudspeaker with a wide, even dispersion pattern that allows for fewer loudspeakers in large spaces such as classrooms and legislative chambers. The Sonia C5 is powered by Xilica's new Sonia Amp, a PoE+ amplifier with an integrated network switch that can daisy-chain up to eight Sonia C5 loudspeakers. With four individual channels, one Sonia Amp can also power Sonia C5 loudspeakers in four adjacent meeting rooms, resulting in additional cost savings and simplified deployment.
The Xilica Sonia series continues the IT-friendly design that began with the Xilica Solaro DSPs and the recently introduced Xilica Gio family of network points. The Sonia Amp's integrated network switch features a PoE port suitable for delivering both power and Dante network audio to a ceiling-mounted microphone array, such as the Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2, via a single CatX cable run to the ceiling for a complete in-room audio system. Furthermore, Category 1 standard wired connectivity between the Sonia Amp and Sonia C5 eliminates the need for traditional polarized speaker cables, power calculations, and registered installation practices by IT technicians.
For greater ease of installation, the Sonia C5 and Sonia Amp are Plenum Rated and feature integrated mounting capabilities that allow the Sonia Amp to be placed on the back of a Sonia C5 loudspeaker, eliminating the need for external amplifier racks. The Sonia C5 offers a removable, magnetic, and fully paintable grille with a removable logo to blend seamlessly into any space, and when paired with Xilica Solaro DSPs, Xilica's new VoiceMatch technology optimizes audio and room acoustics to ensure highly intelligible listening.
