“The BC800Z builds on Synology’s decade of experience in AI-powered computer vision, bringing advanced analytics such as license plate recognition, smoke detection, and people and vehicle counting to the edge for faster, more responsive monitoring,” said Marcos de Santiago, Business Unit Director – South Europe, Synology France. “With 4K clarity and superior low-light performance, the BC800Z delivers reliable, high-performance surveillance and exceptional value for demanding security deployments.”

The BC800Z offers 8MP (3840×2160) resolution at 30 FPS with a 4.38–9.33mm zoom lens and a 112.1° to 47.5° horizontal field of view, providing sharp images and flexible coverage. A 1/1.8" starlight sensor combined with hybrid white/IR illumination ensures clear images in low-light environments. Constructed with an all-aluminum body and certified to IP66, IP67, and IK10 standards, the BC800Z offers robust durability for reliable operation in demanding surveillance environments.

The BC800Z offers AI-powered event detection and recognition directly at the edge, ensuring ultra-low latency and highly efficient performance. It supports smoke detection, license plate recognition, and people and vehicle counting, enabling fast and intelligent incident detection. Enhanced with advanced analytics features such as intrusion detection, Instant Search, and Auto Tracking, the BC800Z allows users to proactively respond to events and protect their property with greater speed, accuracy, and confidence.

Synology BC800Z 2 camera

The BC800Z integrates protection at every layer, from system integrity to data transmission and storage. HTTPS and SRTP provide end-to-end encryption for video and data, while the microSD card failover mechanism ensures recording during network outages. The BC800Z is NDAA/TAA compliant, making it suitable for government and enterprise deployments. Together, these features protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical surveillance data.

Starting with the BC800Z, Synology will separate device and camera licenses to offer users greater flexibility and transparency in deployment. With camera licenses already integrated into Synology NAS and DVA products, this new model allows users to purchase additional licenses only when needed. Camera pricing will also be adjusted to reflect the new structure, offering greater value and cost efficiency.
