“The SA6400 is the ideal solution for dealing with the current and ever-increasing volume of unstructured data,”says Iván Gento, Marketing Executive for Iberia & Africa at Synology. “Its scalability allows for increased storage capacity as data demand grows. This makes it a suitable device for file storage or backups in agile and dynamic environments, preparing companies for future data growth.”
The SA6400's storage capacity can be expanded by adding up to eight RX1223RP expansion units for a total of 108 drive bays. This provides 1.9 petabytes of storage in a single system, which is nine times the original capacity.
With sequential read/write performance of over 6500/4000 MB/s, the SA6400 ensures smooth operations, even in the most demanding scenarios such as enterprise data centers, large production studios, and applications in the retail and hospitality sectors.
Performance can be further improved to accommodate more streams or address specialized applications by upgrading the integrated 10 GbE networks to 25 or even 40 GbE.
Extensive compatibility with file and locking protocols enables large-scale access to company resources via local network or VPN, with easy access privilege management thanks to Active Directory/LDAP.
Synology Drive's multi-platform file management and sharing solution enables organizations to create a private cloud that teams can use to securely access, edit, and share files, with granular permission settings for optimal security and compliance.
Cloud integration, whether from Synology's own cloud, C2 Storage, or from external cloud service providers, ensures efficient file synchronization between sites for distributed teams or companies that adopt hub-and-spoke organizational models.
Synology's Active Backup Suite for endpoint protection allows you to back up Windows, Linux and macOS (coming soon) devices, Hyper-V/VMware virtual machines and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace accounts to the SA6400 and quickly restore them when needed.
The SA6400 also includes replication automation services, data backups, and snapshots to protect shared folders, with destinations ranging from other Synology systems to the cloud for easy compliance with the 3-2-1 backup rule.
Service availability can be improved with the Synology High Availability (SHA) service, which pairs identical units to create an active/passive cluster that ensures automatic service failover within minutes in the event of unexpected downtime.
Synology DSM 's download center, containers, and virtual machines offer a range of solutions tailored to the needs of organizations.
Integrated business applications include a comprehensive suite of productivity and file management tools that teams can leverage to enhance collaboration, as well as a private email solution with full data ownership and a feature-rich messaging platform for more convenient and secure communications.
Virtual machines and Docker containers can be run on the SA6400, using Docker or Synology Virtual Machine Manager (VMM), a hypervisor for virtualized versions of Windows®, Linux® and DSM, to securely test and evaluate applications.
The
SA6400 is available starting today through Synology.
