In today's wireless networks, RF spectrum interference is inevitable. It can be caused by Wi-Fi devices, such as laptops and smartphones (whether corporate, BYOD, or IoT), or by non-Wi-Fi devices, such as Bluetooth, cordless phones, or microwave ovens.
Aerohive's advanced spectrum analyzer allows network administrators to easily determine the extent and source of interference and effectively address its impact on performance. It is very easy to use, and the graphical interface is natively integrated into the alerts and troubleshooting section of HiveManager® NG.
Spectrum Intelligence, as a problem-solving feature, is complemented by Aerohive Channel Selection Protocol (ACSP), a channel optimization capability. ACSP is one of Aerohive's cooperative control protocols that have eliminated physical controllers from wireless architectures. It allows access points (APs) to determine and apply the best channel and power settings to minimize channel interference. Unlike most competing products, where spectrum analysis is used to manually evaluate and then adjust channel settings, ACSP does so automatically.
Aerohive plans to integrate the Spectrum Intelligence feature with other problem-solving tools and add machine learning functionality to provide diagnostic and optimization capabilities.
