The RTR option enhances the RTSA capabilities currently available for Agilent PXA and MXA signal analyzers. The RTR option allows engineers to record, analyze, and play back signal spectrum density data for signal anomaly detection and analysis, as well as to view signal and spectrum density trends over time. The RTR option includes the application, the source code for user expansion, and MATLAB software, enabling users to extend the application's capabilities as needed to meet their current and future testing requirements.

The RTR option addresses numerous and important challenges related to signal analysis, including:

o Detection and analysis of signal anomalies, such as hard-to-detect edges.

or Identification of the highest power signal during a period of interest, by placing density and density envelope cursors.

o Study of a signal spectrum in which low power signals are followed by high power signals at the same frequency.

or Study of a spectrum in which several bursts of signal occur at different frequencies at different times, and in which the relative timing and number of occurrence of the signals at each frequency is important.

By detecting, analyzing, and resolving signal anomalies at early stages, engineers can reduce the time to information and the time to market for radio frequency designs such as radars, defense devices, and mobile communications.

“The RTR option offers significant real-time recording and playback capabilities that allow our customers to overcome signal analysis challenges,” says Bob Witte, vice president of Agilent’s technology management organization. “Furthermore, if a project presents signal analysis needs that fall outside the scope of the pre-configured application capabilities, the customer can immediately customize and extend the solution to meet their own testing requirements.”.

The RTR option can be purchased with an Agilent PXA N9030A or MXA N9020A real-time spectrum analyzer with the RT1 or RT2 option. The RT1 or RT2 option and the RTR option can be added later as an upgrade to the N9030A or N9020A models.
