The explosive growth of content-rich services, such as mobile video on demand, is rapidly driving the deployment of LTE-Advanced technology by network operators around the world, which enables the use of key technologies such as Carrier Aggregation (CA), which groups different carrier components into one, and multiple input multiple output (MIMO), which uses multiple antennas for communications.

With the release last year of the DL CA 4CCs measurement software for the MT8821C analyzer, Anritsu was the first test and measurement company to support LTE-Advanced DL 4CCs 2x2 MIMO UE evaluation. This latest software version further enhances the MT8821C's capabilities, adding support for LTE MIMO 4x4 DL UE testing, which is being introduced now, and LTE-Advanced DL CA 5CCs UE, which will be announced in the near future.

The released software includes the following;

• MX882113C-012 LTE TDD MIMO 4x4 DL
• Measurement software MX882112C-051 LTE-Advanced FDD DL CA 5CCs
• Measurement software MX882113C-051 LTE-Advanced TDD DL CA 5CCs

As well as expanding the MT8821C's measurement functions, these latest software packages also strengthen the user-friendly graphical interface, with improved parameter search functions, a performance graph display function, and a wide range of selectable audio codecs for VoLTE Echoback, along with a video Echoback function.
