A one-third turn bayonet coupling mechanism allows for quick and reliable connection and disconnection.Highly resistant to impacts and vibrations, they are fully interconnectable with VG95234 connectors, compliant with the mass transport specification NF F 61-030 (resistance to fuel oils, solvents and high temperatures) and have been approved and qualified by the SNCF.
Using UL94V-0 flame-retardant thermoplastic inserts, the connectors benefit from a removable insert retaining ring allowing for field polarization changes and an insert pin interfacial gasket for environmental sealing when connected and improved electrical leakage. All contacts are easy to insert and remove. VBN connectors enable efficient field harnessing to address assembly challenges and reduce train maintenance time.
The electrical performance is 3250 Vac RMS when connected. The maximum rated current at 20ºC (isolated single contact) is 22 A for AWG 16, 41 A for AWG 12, and 73 A for AWG 8.
VBN connectors are designed for 2000 mating cycles and are available in a wide variety of housing styles and sizes. The different housing types and disconnect mechanisms offer flexibility with many cable types.
