This security router from Phoenix Contact meets both the demanding hardware requirements of the process industry and the stringent IT requirements for security products. Regarding the hardware, noteworthy features include an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C.

Its compliance with IECEx and ATEX for Ex zones, as well as its resistance to harmful gases according to ISA-S71.04-1985 G3 Harsh Group A.

Regarding the software, in addition to the existing MGuard security features, extra security modules have been incorporated for the OPC Classic protocol, widely used in the industry. These include Deep Package Inspection (DPI) and Network Address Translation (NAT). DPI enables a high-quality OPC Classic firewall within the production plant, while NAT allows for the quick, easy, and conflict-free integration of installations with the same IP addresses into a higher-level production network.
