The modules, which start up and operate in less than 500 ms, have been certified by the PROFIBUS User Organization (PNO) according to PROFINET specifications, meeting all Class B conformity requirements. Typical applications include automation systems with higher-level machine control and a deterministic data cycle.

During the certification process, all the requirements for class B compliance were successfully met: easy and convenient replacement of the Brad HarshIO module without the need for an engineering tool; support for SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), thus expanding the network diagnostic functions of the Brad HarshIO module, such as information on port status; and a Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP) with adaptive capacity to improve data reliability.

Furthermore, Brad HarshIO PROFINET I/O modules support safety automation architectures with separate power supplies for inputs (sensors) and outputs (actuators). The Brad HarshIO power connector includes separate ground isolation between the logic or input ground and the output ground. This feature allows the module to be powered by two different power supplies, a common practice in safety applications.
