The EDS-G205 is equipped with five ports, supporting 10/100/1000BaseT(x) connections. The EDS-G205 is no less robust than any other member of Moxa's industrial switch family. It rivals any other model in the EDS series, thanks to its support for wide power supply ranges (between 12 and 48 VDC), redundant dual power supplies, and bandwidth limiting in case of failures to prevent network collapse. It also features a relay with an alarm function to trigger an alarm in case of power failure or port deactivation.


There are also models with industrial operating temperature ranges, from -40°C to +75°C, and it has certifications for industrial environments such as ATEX Zone 2/Div2, Class 1, DNV, and GL. This functionality is activated when the EDS-G205 detects that one of the ports has been disconnected or that the cable connecting it is less than 60 meters long, thus activating the power saving function.
