Hortigüela holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, a Master's degree in Strategic Marketing Management from ESADE Business & Law School, a PDG in Management from IESE Business School – University of Navarra, and a Master's degree in Senior Management in the management of companies in the agri-food chain from the University of San Telmo.
He has held positions of responsibility in the Institutional Relations departments of Philips and Samsung. His most recent role was Director of Institutional Relations and Corporate Citizenship at Samsung.
