Powerlink is one of the first networks offered in the new Anybus CompactCom 40 Series, which will be launched in April. The CompactCom 40 Series enables very fast and accurate communication between the host device and Powerlink. Communication speed and reliability are crucial, as Powerlink networks are frequently used in demanding industrial applications such as synchronized servo drive systems. CompactCom 40 Series Powerlink products come in three different formats – chip, brick, and module – and all are equipped with the same host device software interface. This ensures complete flexibility for customers when configuring their automation product with CompactCom.
Key technical features:
The Anybus CompactCom 40 Series enables fast communication between the host device and Powerlink – latency is less than 15 µs and it can handle up to 1500 bytes of process data in each direction. The CompactCom 40 series, available in chip, brick, and module form, features an integrated Ethernet hub implemented in the Anybus NP40 network processor and supports multiplexing and poll response chaining. It boasts a 1 µs response time (time from poll request to poll response) and a maximum 1 µs jitter.
Connectivity to any network with Anybus?
Anybus CompactCom is the most widely used concept for connectivity with numerous networks worldwide. By implementing Anybus CompactCom, device manufacturers can instantly access connectivity to twenty different industrial networks, including Powerlink, simply by plugging in the corresponding Anybus product. This opens up new business opportunities for device manufacturers and significantly expands their markets.
What is Anybus CompactCom?
Anybus CompactCom is a series of industrial network interfaces that are integrated into an industrial device to provide connectivity to various industrial networks. CompactCom is available as a chip, brick, or module, allowing users to choose the level of integration. Anybus' CompactCom 30 series is already in use in millions of industrial automation devices. The new 40 series will be launched in April 2014.
Plug-in hybrid starter controller
The new variants of Phoenix Contact's Contactron hybrid starter controllers allow for quick and easy integration into common fieldbus systems such as Profibus, Profinet, CANopen, DeviceNet, Modbus, and EtherNet/IP.
