C3, Cables and Components for Communications, SL, a specialized company of the COFITEL Group, presents its new GPJ09-5805 torpedo to protect aerial and buried optical splices and perform cable bleeding with tube housing.

Two Spanish scientists have been appointed to the Steering Committee of the European Technology Platforms (ETPs) Net!Works and ISI. They are two of the six international scientists elected during a joint general assembly held in Brussels. Among the 25 candidates representing excellence in advanced telecommunications research, six Spaniards vied for a position on this body, which will lead European research on mobile communications for the next decade.

Harting presents the Han® Q High Density. With Han® Q High Density, 21 signal contacts can be installed compactly on the Han® 3 A base. This ensures a high level of IP 65 protection and easy handling in the field.

Omron Electronic Components Europe has announced an FPC/FFC connector that incorporates a new anti-reverse rotary mechanism for quick and reliable cable insertion and conforms to industry-accepted mounting dimensions.

Medical and pharmaceutical company Roche Diagnostics has chosen NetApp solutions and Bull integration to carry out a major upgrade project in its data center, leveraging high-density technologies.

Reliable power, signal, and data transmission across all performance ranges is a fundamental requirement for industrial applications. HARTING's new PushPull signal connector consistently meets these requirements within a uniform connector system.

On October 29th in Brussels, the joint general assembly of the European Technology Platforms (ETPs) Net!Works and ISI will elect six international scientists to its Steering Committee. Among the 25 candidates representing excellence in advanced telecommunications research are six Spaniards vying for a position on this body, which will lead European research on mobile communications for the next decade.

This Technical Document compiles the latest standards in the field of data networks and structured cabling, as they pertain to the IEEE and TIA standardization bodies.
The data network market is constantly evolving, and in addition to the applications and protocols mentioned below, it is important to note that a working group, IEEE 802.3bs, has been established to develop 400Gbps over multimode fiber.

R&M has developed a new range of terminal and intermediate distributors for the "last mile" of subscriber access. The new VENUS SCM distributor range expands the R&Mfoxs product catalog, offering a complete FTTH solution based on the SCM (Single Circuit Management) concept. This R&M development enables simple, effective, and scalable circuit and subscriber management at cable splice points within the infrastructure.

Without cables and connectors, there would be no change in energy policy, no electromobility, no high-speed internet, and no wireless metering technologies. At this year's productronica, Messe München is creating an outstanding innovation platform for visitors: the leading forum on "Technologies for Cable and Connector Processing."

Polymicro Technologies, a subsidiary of Molex Incorporated, has successfully developed an optical fiber consisting of a low-OH synthetic fused silica core, a PolyClad™ hard polymer cladding, and an ETFE buffer layer/jacket. Because it offers high tensile strength and a minimal bend radius to provide high levels of reliability,

There are more than 5 billion mobile users, more than 30 billion pieces of content are shared on Facebook every month, there are trillions of web pages, billions of searches are done daily on Google, Facebook has more than 900 million users, Twitter has more than 200 million users, more than 24 hours of video are uploaded every second on YouTube, etc. [1].

The astonishing growth in data traffic resulting from "always-on" devices, cloud computing, and the surge in video content has been well documented. The energy demands of server farms and data centers reflect this growth. The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector is working to address these energy consumption challenges.

Alcatel-Lucent is enabling a major increase in the capacity and reach of China Telecom's fiber optic data network. What can Europe learn from China's approach to fiber?

A new arc calibration method has been developed for fusing optical fibers with a wide range of glass diameters. This method heats the fiber with several short arcs and measures the amount fused at the corners of the fiber terminations. The fusion rate at the fiber termination is proportional to the fiber temperature.
