Equinix selects Infinera Cloud Xpress for data center interconnection in Hong Kong
Infinera announces that Equinix has selected Infinera Cloud Xpress to interconnect its data centers in Hong Kong. Infinera Cloud Xpress offers Equinix a platform with hyperscale density, operational simplicity, and low power consumption.
Unitecnic, part of Grup Mediapro, and Nevion, a subsidiary of the Sony Group, are strengthening their collaboration with a new initiative to create a permanent IP technology lab focused on broadcast applications. Phlux Technology, a manufacturer of avalanche photodiode (APD) infrared sensors, Airbus Defence and Space, and the University of Sheffield have embarked on a €500,000 project to build more efficient free-space optical communications (FSOC) satellite terminals. Funded by the European Space Agency (ESA), the medium-term goal of the project is to achieve reliable 2.5 Gbps communications with low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites at a wavelength of 1550 nm.
