Today's industrial automation and automotive sectors share a common element: rapid digitalization made possible by the availability of high-performance silicon. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning are used to augment traditional control with more advanced functions. The key to many of these architectures lies in their use of distributed intelligence and control, which require the ability to move large amounts of data not only quickly but also predictably.
Advantech introduces the EKI-8510G Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) Ethernet switch. Advantech has participated in CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) initiatives to promote CC-Link IE TSN applications across various industries. The EKI-8510G has achieved CC-Link IE TSN Class A and B certifications, enabling a wide range of applications in industrial environments.
PoE switches designed for use outdoors in buildings and smart cities enable services ranging from public Wi-Fi® and video surveillance to connected lighting, which require increasingly higher levels of reliability and cybersecurity. Microchip Technology Inc. has expanded its family of PoE switches with the highest level of protection, adhering to industry standards for these applications, and announces its PDS-204GCO switch.
Robustel introduces a new series of fully integrated Edge Computing gateways. The Robustel Edge Gateway series will initially consist of three product lines, including the EG5100 and LG5100 with ARMv7 architecture and the EG5120 with ARMv8 architecture.
Experience shows that requirements change during project runtime or throughout the application lifecycle. That's why Phoenix Contact's open PLCnext Technology ecosystem offers a plug-in solution, along with the ability to later load features from the PLCnext Store: a left-alignable system complements PLCnext Control with functions not included in its standard range.
Festo launches the CPX-AP-I remote I/O modules; a flexible, decentralized, compact, and lightweight system with a high degree of protection. The solution is based on Festo's AP (Automation Platform) communication and is open to market standards. In this way, the CPX-AP-I automation system enables continuous communication, from the workpiece to the cloud, tailored to the needs of each production process.
Factories are becoming increasingly intelligent, which requires that components and machines also be smarter. Sensors and actuators must provide real-time data at every point in the system, and LAPP offers a complete range of products for all industrial communication applications. This includes everything from sensor-actuator and control level components to the operator system, where, for example, inventory management takes place.
The world of industrial applications is undergoing a paradigm shift. Industry 4.0 and the IIoT are becoming increasingly prevalent in industry. Digital transformation has long been gaining momentum among manufacturing companies worldwide. Components and solutions that drive digitalization represent a multi-billion dollar market. Many industrial companies face drastic investment decisions and must deploy financial resources and manpower to keep pace with rapid development. The demand for products that can conserve valuable resources is constantly growing.
